My passion with Oracle (more so with RDBMS’s) started when I was doing engineering. Started learning Oracle in 3rd year but never went pass self-joins chapter of my sql book, I could
not simply visualize them.. :-)

Well, it is said that necessasity is mother of all inventions, so when I was “declared” Oracle DBA, in my first job, I had to invent self-joins in my mind !!!…..

So the journey started and it has been 8 years now. During these 8 years I worked with Oracle Corporation and had chance
to look at internals a little bit (Still wish to see TAO server :-). From Oracle DBA, as natural evolution, I became Apps DBA
and immediately started liking it.

As apps dba my spectrum increased from just being technical, behind the scene guy, to a one who should know how business
processes works and what impact a simple query can have on a company’s bottom line….

I consider my self as a learner and always thirsty to know more. Knowledge is one thing that excites me and I feel that it increases by sharing. So here is my blogs, dedicated to my friends across the globe, with whom I would like to share my experiences, and expects the same from them (Please give your comments !!!!). I promise that this blog is not just some cut and paste job and will always be based on my practical experiences (hence the name “practicalappsdba”)

good luck and keep reading my blog…
